I am absolutely worn out. Which is not a good way to begin a busy school week. I am a dance instructor at a local dance studio, and we had our annual dance recital for the students on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon/evening. It was VERY long and hectic and busy, and wonderful.
Friday evening the show began at 7pm (I arrived at 5pm to help with set-up, hair, make-up, etc). The show lasted almost 4 hours!! We have lots of students and lots of dances. I did not get home until almost midnight, and of course had to eat something, so did not go to sleep prior to 1am.
Saturday required me to do grocery shopping and then be back at the theatre by 2:30pm for our 4pm show. The show was another 4 hours. After cleaning up and packing up, I arrived home by 9pm. This time I ate and fell asleep on the coach at about 11pm. I eventually made it to my bed.
Today has been a bit of recovery, but a run to the dump, laundry, and errands, has eliminated the opportunity for any real rest. The plan for the rest of the evening is to finish our last six thank you cards from our wedding and hopefully CHILL OUT!!! I am NEVER very good at that, so we'll see.

Wow, sounds like we are all very busy this time of year. I hope you get the rest you need so it doesn't catch up to you later. I am sure it was all worth it, though!
ReplyDeleteOn the other note, it is so nice to hear that some people do still send thank you notes. For some reason, the people in Miami do not send thank yous or bother to R.S.V.P. to any invitations either. I find it very rude and it makes it so difficult to plan a gathering of any kind because you never know how many people are going to show up! I have recently decided I would start calling guests about a day in advance to confirm before I do the grocery shopping for any events I host.
I know how y'all feel in the over exhausted department. After next week, I hope to slow down just a bit. Saturday I spent the day proctoring the SAT then took my girls to game night on the other side of the world it seems. Of course the kids did not play games. They just ran around and had a blast. The adults played poker. I am not a game player. Oh the anxiety I have thinking about the time I am wasting watching people play poker when I could be home cleaning. That sounds sad.... it just that there is not enough time in a weekend to accomplish washing 4 loads, mowing, vacuuming etc.
ReplyDeleteI just love to write thank you notes! Every year at Xmas I mail over 60 cards to people who have touched my life at one time. Have a great week!
